On Sunday 3 October, our team of seven fundraisers put months of training into practice at the London Marathon.
All seven completed the challenge and have raised more than £20,000 for Southmead Hospital in the process.
Among our group of runners were Mike, a teacher at Clifton High School, Rob, an officer in the British Army and one of our incredible Intensive Care Unit nurses, Sophie.
Together, they achieved some brilliant times:
Mike: 3 hours and 22 minutes.
Ross: 3 hours and 24 minutes
Rob: 4 hours and 3 minutes
Stuart and Max, from The Jolly Hog, who’ve supported the hospitals throughout the pandemic: 4 hours and 13 minutes, and 4 hours and 25 minutes.
Ali and Sophie, best friends who ran together the whole way: 5 hours and 23 minutes.
Thank you also to Matt, who ran a virtual marathon around Bristol to raise money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
You can see how each of the runners got on by visiting their fundraising pages on Virgin Money Giving.
