Now there’s no better excuse to tuck in to a Jolly Good Scotch Egg… with 5p from every sale being donated to fund vital Covid-19 research right here in Bristol.
Max, Olly and Josh from The Jolly Hog recently visited the research team at Southmead Hospital to find out how Coronavirus research is hoping to progress new understanding of the virus, potential treatments to save lives and the long term impact on survivors.
At the start of the pandemic, The Jolly Hog set up Miss Piggy – a catering service on the Southmead Hospital site providing free meals to NHS staff.
Over three months they served up more than 20,000 free sausage, bacon and vegetarian baps to staff at the hospital.
Now they are back at the hospital to continue providing NHS staff with more free delicious Jolly Hog lunches.
“The support of The Jolly Hog this year has been fantastic – from serving up delicious free meals for staff to pledging their ongoing support for our Coronavirus research projects.
“It is with their support that our researchers have already made progress in increasing our understanding of Coronavirus and are sharing their learnings with frontline clinicians, saving lives today.”
Sarah Harrison, Director of Southmead Hospital Charity
