Southmead Hosptial Charity is pleased to welcome back to the hospital former NICU parent Matt Colley who chose us as the Charity of the Year for his company Moving Experience.
Mr Colley, who owns Moving Experience, a mortgage and protection advice company in Bristol, donated £3,000 to the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit and Maternity department at Southmead Hospital where his two sons were cared for as newborns.
Southmead Hospital Charity was chosen as the company’s Charity of the Year last year to mark their tenth year in business.
The £3,000 was raised through the company donating broker fees paid for arranging mortgages, and a proportion of the commission received for insurance contracts, that were for clients who are NHS staff. Also included was additional work that Matt attracted through attending business networking events..
Mr Colley said: “My two boys at the start of their lives both received high-class care from the NICU and Maternity Unit at Southmead Hospital.
“The business turned 10 last year and we wanted to celebrate that, plus find a way of paying Southmead back for the amazing care that was received by my family, so we decided to raise money for Southmead Hospital Charity.”
Moving Experience are continuing their fundraising for the charity as a corporate partner. The company will continue to offer discounted broker fees to NHS staff for advising and arranging a mortgage, which will be donated to Southmead Hospital Charity following completion of the transaction.
Adrian Brown, Community and Events Manager, said: “This is a great way of raising funds through a corporate partnership or charity of the year initiative because it has enabled the company to raise a brilliant amount of money its their day-to-day business.
“Thank you to Matt and everyone at Moving Experience for choosing us and we are very much looking forward to continuing our partnership.”
Please get in touch with Adrian if your company would like to become one of our charity of the year or corporate partners.
