A huge thank-you from us all

We have been overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of our supporters, donors and the public, from across the region and in the communities that we serve.

From donations of food, headbands and ear protectors to scrub bags and hand creams – your support has meant the world to us and to the incredible staff at North Bristol NHS Trust.

Each item has provided a ray of sunshine for staff working in the fight against Coronavirus and across our clinical teams who are serving and protecting the health of everyone.

It has proven to us how much impact a seemingly small act of kindness can have.

We have been so impressed by your generosity that we are not seeking any further donations of any handmade items so that we can assess what is needed in our hospitals and community teams to ensure resources is distributed in the right way.

If you’re in the process of making these items for us, we welcome you to send in what you have made, but please pause making any more whilst we review stock levels.

We will continue to work with local and national businesses to ensure we can continue to support staff and patients through this difficult time.

If you are a business who would like to support us in any way please do get in touch.

“We’d like to say a sincere thank you to everyone who has taken the time to hand-craft scrubs bags, headbands and ear protectors for our front-line colleagues over the last few weeks.

“And thank you to all the members of the public who have donated items like toiletries or food items for care packages for staff.

“Your kindness and support has allowed us to distribute hundreds of these across clinical teams, and they have been very gratefully received by all.”

Sarah Harrison, Director of Southmead Hospital Charity
